Gulliver's Grill

Food was great. Service, on the other hand was TERRIBLE. We were seated right away, and our drink order was taken and brought out. The two teas our table got had cold water. We let them know, and they brought us out knew ones. No big deal. Then our waitress came to take our order. She clearly had very limited knowledge about the menu, so we assumed she was new and gave her the benefit of the doubt. We waited over 45 minutes for our food to come out from the time we sent our order in. The restaurant was not overly busy at the time. The food we got was very good and hot, which meant it hadn't been sitting in the back. (Led us to believe that the waitress had forgot to put our order in) My cousin found a hair in her pasta so we told the waitress about it when she got back. She took the dish away and didn't offer for it to be remade. We also told the waitress about our food taking so long. She didn't offer us any answer. At this point, we went and spoke to the manager on the floor. He didn't seem to give too s**** about our complaint, and even got a little bit sarcastic with us. We told him we understand if the waitress is new, but the food shouldn't take that long. He informed us that the waitress was not new. It wasn't until we actually said that it was very poor customer service that he offered to take the pasta off of our bill. It's too bad that the service was awful, as the food is excellent.

Our service was terrible. We came in and were told we would have a 10-15 minute wait. From my eavesdropping, someone wasn't ready for their shift and the other servers were full. Along comes the manager and tells them to seat us, apparently in their super deluxe section. We were seated next to construction in an area with 2 mangled floor board heaters and lighting so dim, we had a hard time reading the menu. We were seated at a 3/4 sized booth, compared to the 4 adjacent ones, and 2 of our group are 6 feet tall or over. Our menus were thrown at us and we were spoken to as if we were a burden to the poor waittress. If you aren't ready to serve someone, don't rush them in and make their expereince terible because your staff can't handle it. I would rather wait 10 mintues and recieve proper care than rushed in and recieve lackluster (at best) service. The food was good in 1/2 the cases. For our kids meal, the mac and cheese was clearly just watery kraft dinner, the garlic toast was forgotten and had to be asked for, and never saw the waittress again to get the kids dessert. The burger and fries was quite good, and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the produce on it. The beef dip was good, but the veal cutlettes were dry and tough. We waited 10 minutes to get a drink refill on the kids meal and the second we asked for it she was gone, so we couldn't get any for the rest of the table. We had a coffee drinker at the table, who didn't get a single refill.

Excellent food, wonderful service, great staff. We come here often. We miss the Gulliver's platter appetizer, but the skillet of mushrooms still stirs our gastronomical imagination. And all this with free WiFi - wahoo! Nice atmosphere-open and airy. Happy 64th Dear!

The service was very good from the hostess to the waiter. All the staff were pleasent and very friendly. As soon as we were seated we had service for our drinks and the waiter was on time with everything. The food was great we could not finish all of it. We have been to this restaurant a number of times and have always had great service and good food. Overall a great place to take the family.

Our lunch today was excellent. We had a salad with mango, pineapple, greens, and grapes, cheese toast, and Coronas with lime. Not only was the portion size perfect for the lunch menu, it was fresh, crisp, and had just the right amount of dressing. The toast was excellent too. The service was very fast, friendly and courteous. This was the first time we had been to your restaurant, and next time we are in the city, we will certainly be back. Thank you.

Worst ribs I have ever eaten. First few sections were okay, but last 3/4 were as hard as rocks. Terrible.
